“Go to the ant you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.” – Proverbs 6:6-8
The ant is an excellent example of diligence. One ant does not have to stand over another ant to make sure that it is being diligent. They have initiative. They are rewarded for that initiative by having plenty in times of little. They work consistently, store up some, and enjoy some. They work without having to be told to work. We should be of the same spirit. Not that we work all the time as the ant does. But that we have an attitude of work that motivates us to “store provisions” and “gather food” whether anyone is watching us or not.
